Chronology:

1. Born 1956 in Denver, Norfolk

2. Studied at the Universities of Reading and London

3. 1991 Produced first wood engravings; likened the process to "remembering, rather than learning".

4. 1993, Studied with Sarah Van Niekirk. Elected to the Cambridge Drawing Society.

5. 1997 “Monet’s Gardeners” critics choice at the Cambridge Drawing Society Exhibition. Elected to Society of Wood Engravers.

6. 2000 Develops an interest in engraving bookplates. Exhibiting widely in Britain and abroad

7. 2007 Produced first hand made book from the Oak Apple Press

8. 2007/8 Demonstrates engraving at "Art In Action" at Waterperry, Oxfordshire.

9. 2009 Guest Artist of Wood Engravers Network Annual Workshop, Chicago USA.

10. 2009/2010 Collaborating with novelist Susan Hill on a new edition of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"

11. Features in the November 2009 issue of "Artists & Illustrators" magazine.

Statement:

Artistically, I am a miniaturist and the small scale and precision of wood engraving suits me.

My work is unashamedly rural and autobiographical.

I place emphasis on drawing as preparation for my work.
