Feed The Bees is a handmade miniature book, measuring just 8.2 x 5cm. I know that this is very slightly taller than the strict US definition of a miniature book.
It has been printed directly from four engraved woodblocks - two with images and two with text, using an Albion handpress made in 1865. It was then bound in an accordion fold binding, with marbled paper covers and tied with ribbon laces, which can be undone.
This project developed from my set of four stamps engraved and hand coloured for Royal Mail. I wanted to make an associated project and decided to concentrate on plants that can be planted in a garden to attract bees.
This is the third of my handmade miniature engraved books.
