Iorek & Iofur Fight

This was commissioned as an illustration for a chapter of "Northern Lights" by Phillip Pullman. It shows the fight when Iorek fights Iofur for the crown. I have tried to show the drama in the image, which measures 10 x 7.5 cm (6 x 4 inches) with clear margins all round the printed area. The edition 0f 150 signed, numbered wood-engravings was printed directly from the hand-engraved woodblock, using a Victorian Albion Press.
